THE NSAA’S RULES FOR CAST MEMBERS

BELOW ARE GENERAL RULES THAT ALL CAST MEMBERS OF THE NSAA ARE EXPECTED TO FOLLOW. SPECIFIC RULES FOR CERTAIN PRODUCTIONS WILL BE OUTLINED WHEN YOU ATTEND THE PROGRAM.

Always remember to act in a safe manner. Safety is a top priority here at the NSAA.

In keeping with the NSAA being a safe zone, no unwanted physical contact is tolerated. This includes physical acts of violence such as hitting, kicking, and biting. Unwanted emotion and verbal contact are also not tolerated. This includes insults, threats, inappropriate language and swearing.

It is very important to listen to and follow the directions given to you by the NSAA staff.

Respect is key. Respect everyone and everything. This includes: respecting fellow students and cast members, instructors and directors. We also need to respect the space we are in, props, costumes and anything else that may be used while in the space.

Attendance is important, as it will affect your success in your program. Since each program has different attendance requirements, please refer to your program for specific attendance requirements. In keeping with attendance, it is also very important to be punctual. Being late can affect your success in your program and can affect your cast members and others.

Come prepared to each class. Each program has different requirements, but like attendance, your preparedness for the program can affect your success in NSAA programs. This may include things such as memorizing your cues and lines.

It is important, to be honest, kind, helpful and cooperative. By maintaining a positive attitude, it can help you thrive in your program and helps you be an example to those around you.

Make sure to keep the space tidy. It is important to clean up after yourself to keep the space clean. This includes cleaning up your food, costumes, props and other things you might use or bring to the program.

To keep all cast members safe, please refrain from bringing nuts or peanuts.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Have fun! These programs are here to help you grow and have an enjoyable experience.
